This makes Antarctica a continent that is not suited for the easy living of reptiles. This leads to the fact that there are no reptiles whatsoever on Antarctica that are currently living. However, reptiles did once roam the continent when it was a warmer and more humid location a few million years ago. In fact, dinosaurs once roamed Antarctica in it entirety and were quite a common inhabitant of this, now reptile-devoid, continent. Belgica Antarctica Is The Only Insect In Antarctica 7. Belgica Antarctica is the only insect visible to the human eye present on the continent of Antarctica. This insect, also known as the Antarctic midge, is a purely terrestrial or land bound animal and it is the largest exclusively terrestrial animal on the continent. It is a large black insect that is very similar to other species of midges around the world. It is an amazing insect and it can actually survive being frozen completely and it can unfreeze and then resume its life like nothing happened. It is a fascinating insect that is unique and alone on the southern continent. There Are No Polar Bears In Antarctica 6. This is a huge misconception about the southern continent. Polar bears are only located in the arctic or the North Pole, not at the South Pole in Antarctica. Polar bears are not ever in the same location as penguins and this another misconception. Penguins are native to the Southern Parts of the world and the South Pole. Not the North, where the polar bears are. This is something that most people do not know and unless you go to a zoo, you will never find polar bears and penguins within a thousand miles of each other. The Nematode Worm Is The Most Abundant Animal In Antarctica 5. The nematode is a microscopic organism that is found around the world. It is the most abundant animal in Antarctica and they persist well in the extreme environment there. There are over 25,000 species of nematodes that have been identified and many of them exist on the southern continent. They are essentially small parasitic worms that live off of fish and other animals. The nematodes found in Antarctica are of a strong breed and persist in the coldest environment in the world. There Are No Trees Or Shrubs In Antarctica 4. Antarctica is a continent that is devoid of greenery. Not entirely so, but to quite a large degree. The only plants present on the continent are fossilized or flowers and the types of flowers that grow here are few and far between. This is an interesting fact that shows just how barren the continent of Antarctica is. Transforming ‘LeviathanAntarctic Research Facility 3. A lot of people are not aware of this concept design created by an architectural student. It is the design for a transforming research facility that is meant for the housing of scientists and adventurers. It is also intend to provide facilities and workspaces to these people who come to the southern continent. This is only a concept and not yet a reality, but people who are looking at it say it may be a feasible base design for an advanced research facility in Antarctica. The building is designed to transform to adapt to the constantly changing face of Antarctica which is very useful for such an environment as this. You Cannot Bring Non-Native Animals To Antarctica 2. This is a law that passed in the 1990s. It started with the huskies that were on the continent being used as sled dogs. These dogs were noted by scientists to be transferring a disease amongst them to the seals on the continent which proved to be deadly to the seals in some cases. From that point on in the 90s a law was in effect that prevents the bringing of non-native animals to the icy continent in the south. It is for the safety of the wildlife already there and the safety of the wildlife that is no longer being brought to the continent. Antarctica Is 99 Percent Covered In Ice 1. This may be the only one that does not come as a surprise. However, it is a known fact that the continent of Antarctica is covered in ice. 99% of it is covered even in our heating global climate. There are certain valleys located on the continent like the McMurdo Dry Valley where it never snows and therefore will not, at least not anytime soon, be covered in snow and ice. These dry valleys are the exception to the rule and other than that the continent is completely coated in the cold substance.

Other destinations are reachable only by those blessed with extreme motivation and (most importantly) funding. South Pole — needs no introduction Southern pole of inaccessibilitythe furthest place in Antarctica from the Southern Sea (in other words the hardest place to get to in the world), home to an abandoned Soviet station, which although covered by snow, still bears a visible gold Lenin bust sprouting from the snow and facing Moscow (if you can find a way inside the building, then there's a golden visitor book to sign) Mount Erebus — world's southernmost active volcano, on Ross Island right next to ~Mount Terror!~ Anver Island / Anvord Bay — if any part of Antarctica is "touristy," this is it, home to Palmer Station (U.S.), the museum at Port Lockroy, Cuverville Island, and the only two cruise ship stops on the continent: Paradise Bay and Neko Harbor South Shetland Islands — another set of major attractions on the Antarctic Peninsula cruise ship circuit, including: penguins and hot springs at Deception Island, Hannah Point, Half Moon Island, Aitcho Islands, Artigas Base (Uruguay), and the ever friendly Polish researchers at Arctowski Station McMurdo SoundMcMurdo Station (USA) and Scott Base (New Zealand) on the mainland near Ross Island Mawson's Huts — the small encampment of Sir Douglas Mawson's ill-fated Australian Antarctic Expedition, of which he was the sole survivor, at Cape Denison, Commonwealth Bay

NASA's Operation IceBridge has launched its Antarctic 2012 campaign, flying high-priority missions measuring polar ice from a base of operations at the tip of Patagonia on the Strait of Magellan. They have even made a return visit to the Pine Island Glacier, the site of last year's discovery of a massive rift in the ice. Sea ice doesn't always hold the allure of a massive ice sheet, or a crevassed blue glacier spilling between mountains, but it comes in array of shapes and sizes and has its own ephemeral beauty. Operation IceBridge studies sea ice at both poles, and also runs across interesting formations on route to other targets. Operation IceBridge returned to the Pine Island Glacier twice in 2012, and NASA glaciologist Kelly Brunt discusses the implications of the glacier's impending calving event. Operation IceBridge has now returned to the Pine Island Glacier, not once, but twice in 2012. And the year-old giant crack in the glacier, poised to create an iceberg the size of New York City? Well it's still there, and that iceberg has yet to break free. But the rift has grown longer, much wider, and spawned a secondary crack. Before we talk about when that mighty berg will be born, let's take a look at the IceBridge missions themselves. IceBridge's first return to the region was a high altitude flight over the entire region, including the Thwaites, Smith, and Kohler glaciers. After this campaign is over, scientists will be able to compare this broad survey with previous years' measurements in order to better document the rapid and widespread changes in the region over time.

Are we about to hear that ancient ruins have been found in Antarctica? Is there an Alliance working to defeat the greatest threat humanity has ever faced on earth? Could the Antarctic Atlantis be part of a full or partial disclosure? Join David Wilcock on a thrill ride of discovery, beginning with Part One where he presents data on the Secret Space Program and shares the stage with legendary insider Corey Goode. This is the best public summary David and Corey have done of this amazing story that has captivated the UFO community. Part Two begins at the 53-minute mark, with David connecting the dots between intel from multiple insiders to arrive at a stunning conclusion -- that we are on the verge of major new releases of information that will transform everything we thought we knew about life on earth. A civilization of "Pre-Adamite" giants with elongated skulls appears to have crash-landed on a continent we now call Antarctica some 55,000 years ago. Various groups we collectively call the Alliance are working to defeat the Cabal / Illuminati / New World Order, thus making the headlines crazier by the day. If the Alliance succeeds, their plan is now to begin the disclosure process by telling us there was a civilization in Antarctica. We are already seeing multiple, compelling hints of this in corporate media. Find out what the insiders are telling us and help spread the word! This is a two-and-a-half-hour excerpt from David's Friday and Saturday presentations at the Conscious Life Expo 2017. In their original form they run six hours. David also spoke for three hours on Monday, presenting an incredible new model of the Cosmos based on sacred geometry -- and proving that the Sun is going to release a DNA-transforming burst of energy in our near future.
